Pat Barron, B.B.A. ’75

School of Business Administration National Campaign Chair

Pat Barron served the Federal Reserve System for over 43 years, holding key positions in Miami, San Francisco and Atlanta. He was the chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta when he retired in 2011. As the second highest-ranking individual at the bank, Barron was directly responsible for the offices in Nashville, New Orleans, Birmingham, Jacksonville, and Miami, as well as oversight of bank supervision and strategic planning. He worked closely with the president and research staff with regard to the development of monetary policies for our nation.

Active in community affairs, Barron is past chairman of the Georgia Council on Economic Education. He also has been an associate vice chairman for the United Way of Atlanta and a member of Leadership Atlanta. In Miami, he served as vice chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Barron is a committed University of Miami alumnus who recently served as president of the UM Alumni Association. He serves as an ex-officio member of the University’s Board of Trustees and a member of the President’s Council. His giving to the University includes support for the Robert and Judi Prokop Newman Alumni Center, the President’s Initiatives Fund, and the School of Business Administration.
