Robert A. Mann, A.B. ’70

School of Communication Campaign Chair

Robert Mann is the former president of R.A. Mann Inc. and a cofounder of U.S. Biochemical Corporation, a life science and biotechnology company in Cleveland, Ohio. He was also a director of Ribozyme Pharmaceuticals Inc. (now Sirna Therapeutics).

An alumnus of the University of Miami School of Communication, Mann was one of the original cofounders of student-run WVUM and served as the radio station’s first general manager. He is a long-time member of the University’s Board of Trustees and chairs the School of Communication Visiting Committee.

Recognized numerous times for his unwavering commitment to his alma mater, Mann was named Henry King Stanford Alumnus of the Year in 2008. He has generously supported scholarships and facilities in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the School of Communication.

Mann is a member of Alpha Epsilon Rho, the honor society of the National Broadcasting Society, and the Order of Omega, an honorary fraternity.
